It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and Co-op Radio programmer Skyy Powers. For a long time he was the producer of Fruit Salad and the maestro behind the station's Pride Parade float.

It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of long time programmer Ken Fisher. He had been the host and producer of Métis Matters for more than 20 years on our airwaves. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.

In the Pines benefit concert!

Co-op Radio’s bluegrass, oldtime and country radio show “In the Pines” is joining forces with the Pacific Bluegrass and Heritage Society to present an evening of great bluegrass entertainment, with all proceeds going to CFRO 100.5 FM! Next Monday, October 16th 2017 at the ANZA Club, #3 West 8th Avenue (at Ontario Street). Come down for an evening of great music and support Co-op Radio!

 

Co-op Radio at Vancouver Pride's Sunset Beach Festival

Co-op Radio is going to Pride!! From 11am-6pm on Sunday, August 5th, catch us the Sunset Beach Festival where we will be giving out free Pride-themed Co-op Radio swag and spreading the word about our station! The event will be a lively celebration of Vancouver's LGBT+ community with live performances, a beer garden, a family zone, and other fun-filled festivities! Co-op Radio at Columbia Street!

We are all moved in to our permanent home at 370 Columbia Street and we are excited to be back in the heart of the DTES!

Vancouver Co-op Radio is (Finally) Moving Home!

You have been asking the question, “When is the station moving back?” And now we have an answer. Co-op Radio will be broadcasting live from 370 Columbia Street on July 25 at 1 pm.

Everything is packed up and ready to go from Wall Street. We will continue to broadcast from Wall Street until noon on Tuesday, July 18. At that point, the last of the control room equipment will be moved to our new/old address at 370 Columbia Street in the newly renovated Irving Hotel building.

Charles Boylan 1943- 2017

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our long-time programmers.

Charles Boylan began the Discussion show in the late 1990s. Later, he spearheaded a morning show with his partner Donna called Wake Up with Co-op.

This year as we head into our 42nd year on air, our Spring Member Drive theme is the Co-op Radio Experience: All Different All the Time.
No better way to kick off the Spring Member Drive than with our Annual Birthday Bash, this year on March 31st at the Wise Hall!

Update February 10: Each for All: The Co-operative Connection tied with Girls Rock Camp Vancouver after voting by CCEC members at last night's AGM.  It was great to meet in person so many CCEC members who also belong to Vancouver Co-operative Radio.  Thank you to CCEC for the evening, and for the award and prize!

Your contributions are what keep us going. We are listener-supported, and our members’ contributions and supporters’ donations make up a third of our operating budget. Disruption in Broadcast - Wednesday June 29th 2016

Please note that we will be experiencing a disruption in our broadcast on Wednesday June 29th 2016 between 8am-5pm due to repairs being completed by BC Hydro on power lines connected to or near our station location.

We will instead be re-broadcasting programming that was originally aired on Wednesday June 15th 2016.

Our stream and archives will also be down during this period.

Spring Member Drive Results

Our shortened Spring Member Drive was a big success, thanks to you, our members and listeners! We ended with 33 new members, 120 renewing members, many donors, and over $37,000 pledged. Most of these pledges are now in and processed.

Our Spring Member Drive starts this Thursday, April 14th in the wee hours of the night during Shockwave and runs 10 days until midnight on Sunday, April 24th at the end of What’s So Funny?
