Tune in as Pazhvak covers one of the ongoing issues in Iran and many other contries under Islamic sharia laws. In late September 2013 another law was passed by the Islamic legislative assembly in Tehran that makes it legal for adopting parents to marry their adopted children. Legal age of marriage in Iran could be as young as 9 years old for girls and 13 for boys.  Girls would likely be the first ones impacted by this law as their adopting fathers can marry up to four wives and have an unlimited number of temporary marriages.

As you may have noticed, our Live Stream and Archives require some good work and upgrading.  And what better time than summer to do that!  We hope to have this upgraded for the Fall so please bear with us while we upgrade our hardware and software on this.

Artful Sundays at Britannia Community Centre

4 Sundays (Aug 11-Sept 1) of local artists, live music,  special events, artist workshops and demonstrations, community groups and more! In Napier Greenway (Napier St at Commercial Drive) in East Vancouver. Co-op Radio will be there August 11th.

Congratulations to NCRA/ANREC Community Radio Awards recipients!

Congratulations to the Co-op Radio recipients of the NCRA/ANREC 2013 Community Radio Awards!  Co-op Radio Board Member Freya Zaltz was awarded the Lifetime Achievement/Community Radio Legend Award. Kerry Regier carried home an Outstanding Achievement Award in the category of Music Programming for his unique work on West Coast Classics here at Co-op Radio.

Hey everyone!  Welcome to the newly redesigned Co-op Radio website! 

This new site features a lot of what you're used to, but we've added a few new features including a new video player, a quick favourite show selector, a featured show section, and a more streamlined events panel titled 'What's Going On'.  Enjoy!

On September 10, CFRO moved to 100.5 FM. This new frequency will help us broadcast the same great community-driven, independent, passionate programming but with a stronger signal. Our policies haven't changed and our station is still a co-operative located in the heart of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
