What's your name and where are you from?

Dave Habza from Hamilton, ON.

What has your history with music been? When did you start mixing?

Started with my dad's music collection! My parents left communist Poland in the mid 80's and one of the first gifts my dad was able to buy himself when they were established in Canada was a big stereo system, 100 disc CD changer, the works. So I grew up on everything from Pink Floyd, Queen, ELO, Depeche Mode, to the Bee Gees, ABBA, Boney M., to early electronic music like Jean-Michel Jarre and Enigma (Michael Cretu is a genius btw). Started playing classical piano at age 4, picked up my first guitar at 12, and joined my first band as a bassist at 13. Didn't start mixing until a buddy of mine had a house party freshman year.

Why did you start Force of Sound?

My computer crashed a couple years ago with my whole music collection, I pulled out the hard drive and have been going through a folder full of over 25,000 songs. I figured I can rediscover my collection and make mixes for my commute to work. I sent them to a few friends who were digging them so I decided to put them out there.

What is the purpose of music in your life?

Soundtrack to my life, I very rarely don't have something playing in the background.

It's your last DJ set ever and you have one track left to play.  What track is it and why?

That's a tough one! Last set ever I'd probably go with an uplifting one and finish it with Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In (Vocal Mix) always thought that was a perfect closer. Nothing beats a nice drive while peaking to Uplifting Trance.
